THE WHY

In light of the events that took place this summer – the killings of unarmed Black people and hiring (later rescinded) of a dean at Arizona State University who was accused of racist behavior –  a series of conversations and working groups have been developed to better understand the experience of students of color at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.  I created this project because, although data is invaluable, it is important to give a voice to that data and make sure that human emotion is not lost in graphs and spreadsheets.
